Consulting & Training
Consulting
For UL Staff members:
- We can provide expert advice for HPC services, in brief pre-arranged sessions of 30 minutes.
- Some tasks may be complicated and require collaboration with other university branches - this is normal when dealing with problems at this scale.
- Take the 30 minutes HPC User Sessions wisely and prepare non-trivial questions, after having gone through the documentation.
For externals
We have developed over time a recognized expertise covering all aspects of High Performance Computing systems (from platform configuration and deployment, to code parallelization, workflow adaptation to HPC, green computing etc.).
We can offer this expertise to support your projects and your developments at expert consulting rates (150€/hour).
If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact us.

Complementary Training material
You can find on the Internet many other training sources. Below is a restricted list of web sites we found worth to mention:
-
Cyberinfrastructure Tutor, by NCSA : too rich to ignore
-
Introduction to Parallel Computing: Grama,Gupta,Karypis,Kumar
-
The International Exascale Software Roadmap, by J. Dongarra, P. Beckman et al.
-
Intro to HPSC - Free textbook!
Instructions that you see on other HPC sites, may not always be directly applicable to our HPC platforms,
typically due to minor environment divergence (eg. `module load matlab` vs `MATLAB` etc) or sometimes,
due to plain choice of features (eg. PBS or SLURM directives in scripts and so on so forth).
You are more than advised to be aware of such cases and the need to adjust the interpretation
of training material to the context of local setup.
